Community Conversations
Below are details about the Community Conversations and Local Area Energy Plan, as well as how these will be used in my research.

Community Conversations
are a free, open, opportunity for people to share and talk about topical issues. The conversations focus on the topic of ‘energy’, looking at 6 different areas where energy is used in our day-to-day lives, like how we get to work or heat our homes.
The conversations take place over 3 hours, and follow a two-question format. The questions ask "how do we live now?" and "what actions can we take?"

Local Area Energy Plan
is a continuously developing action plan to identify and enable Cornwall to move away from fossil fuels and towards low-carbon alternatives. There are actions for everyone: communities, individuals, businesses and local government.

Data Collection
Each of the conversations will contribute to my PhD research, with learnings being fed back to Cornwall Council and Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Climate Commission. To collect data, I will take notes at each Conversation, and I will also record the 'summary' following each break-out question.
These summaries will be anonymous and not include any identifiable information. You do not have to consent to participating in the research to take part in a conversation, and you may opt out at any time.
Events
Community Conversations have been hosted in Penzance, Truro and Falmouth.
Conversations will also be hosted in St Austell, Saltash & Truro Town Centre.
